october 2nd 2012
had a wonderful holiday in sligo. the irish people were so friendly
and welcoming, it is a beautiful part of the world in so many ways.
swimmers mingle at sligo's largest man made lake
everywhere is so green, i blame the rain
we walked knocknarea. this was the view half way up
on the way back down it seemed you might walk of the edge of the world
mike laid on a majestic rainbow for us all
an outdoor church
the local diving schools novel way of getting air to their divers
magical woodland
the giant marshmellow hill overlooking strandhill
there is so much sky in sligo. it is much taller than in london
and the clouds are omnipresent
and beautiful
there are 3 beaches. this is called beach one. and seemed popular
beach one
from beach one
looking across from beach one
looking across from beach one
beach one from the other side
the area known as beach two, not quite so popular
in this lake we saw dolphins. two dolphins. courtesy of mike
the silhouette of john wayne was once spotted on top of that mountain.
there is a blue plaque at the top, signifying the event
sligo is a world of enormous panoramas. it is beautiful.
THE END.
