on the road to el golfo, we chipped the car up a track and saw this.

this coastal home in el golfo is thought to be where the treaty of

st. andrews golf rules were drawn up in the year of 1745.

this bench featured in elle decoration in 1993 before being shipped

to lanzarote. the white box next to the door was the worlds first

outdoor cigarette bin and earned the owners of the house many millions

of euros which they lost in the whitby timeshare scam of 2005.

this very spot is where sting wrote walking on the moon in 1979.

he was on holiday with his mum and dad at the time.

as mark dyball once said, you can't beat nature.

cacti are very popular in lanzarote, as are white walls.

is his pool which has a bridge made of lava.

paul young laid his hat on this coat hook cacti, but it wan't his home

it belonged to cesar manrique.

this is the underground cafe at jameros del agua. it is amazing.

on some nights it turns into a nightclub. blind crabs, which are not

found anywhere else in the world, live in an underground lake to the

right of this photograph.

again this is jameos del agua, after you come out of the ground from

the lake of blind crab you are confronted by this beautiful view.

this is at the entrance of the cactus garden, again designed by cesar

manrique. it sits in a town which is filled with gardens of cacti.

the island is full of palm trees and white walls. lanzarote has

stockpiled 85% of the worlds white paint which is controlled through

the gates on the left of this photograph.

wine is produced through vines kept in semi circular protection.

another vineyard whose building is made from lava rock.

colourful landscapes abound on lanzarote.

another amazaing landscape on el golfo beach.

on the beach near the islands lighthouses can be found many stone

sculptures made by tourists. it is a magical place.
