this is where we stayed. i highly recommend it. it is on prinsengracht,

in a great area of the city, near the nine streets, which is fab.

this is a cyclist. there are thousands of them in

amsterdam, it pays to remember your GREEN CROSS CODE.

i didn't like to upset her, but had no choice in the

matter. after circling the area a couple of times in

a slightly disturbing manner, she left me to it.

i had a lovely lunch here. it is on warmoesstraat. there are so many

great places to eat, this is one of my favourites. i had a conversation

with a very interesting lady who worked for the amsterdam philharmonic

orchestra, she gave me some gold nuggets about amsterdam. one of which

was the background of the hermitage museum. went to see a splendid

exhibition there, matisse to malevich, brilliant.

a new idea for tiling your kitchen. i know of one

house which will be sporting this idea!

i covert this sign, i wish it were mine. only 2 screws to undo...

a houseboat on which they allow infrequent games of 5-a-side.

with all the thousands of happy and well used bikes in amsterdam,

this seemed particularly poignant.

my favourite shop in amsterdam. the owner, like so many dutch people,

is so friendly and welcoming. sells early century to 60's homeware.
